For the month of August, I will be receiving a total of S$2,901.56 in dividends/ distributions from Singtel, Starhub, M1, SATS, FCT, CMT, Suntec REIT, First REIT, CACHE, MLT and Neratel. This is indeed a bountiful month for me!^^
  1. Singtel: S$700
  2. Starhub: S$500
  3. M1: S$490
  4. SATS: S$160
  5. Frasers CentrePoint Trust: S$62.60
  6. CapitaMall Trust: S$188.30
  7. Suntec REIT: S$135.96
  8. First REIT: S$200
  9. CACHE: S$214.70
  10. Mapletree Logistics Trust: S$190
  11. Neratel: S$60

All the REITs in my portfolio reported decent results a few weeks back. I shall continue to stay vested in them. I used part of my armageddon fund to accumulate 2 lots of SATS as the price experienced some weakness recently. It seems the company is sharing my thoughts. SATS has been pretty aggressive in its share buybacks. I am confident SATS will benefit from the future terminals at Changi Airport. This is a long-term growth investment for me.

Another piece of good news is that SGX will be implementing 100-share size in early 2015. I am looking forward to adding some heavyweights to my portfolio, especially the banks.

Pushing on,

  2. Hi DW!

I was wondering why you havent been posting your global dividend growth?

  3. Hi DW,

ever considered SIAEC ? It has hit new 52-weeks low of $4.56 recently.

  4. Hi DW,

I find that you are very knowledgeable about REITS and factors that can affect yields, e.g. from comments such as "First REIT I has no credit rating, so the maximum gearing it can have is 35%. Right now it is very close to that limit. A rights issue may be coming soon".

Is it because you are working in a finance-related field and thus familiar/aware of terms and concepts such as these? I was just thinking how a layman like myself could be made aware of these kind of things. There are so many many things I'm not aware of. Even gearing ratio, you prefer a maximum of 35% and to me, I have no concept/context of what implications a gearing ratio of 35% vs 40% would have.....

How can I gain these kind of technical knowledge which would enable me to assess whether a stock/REIT is a bargain or a trap?

    Thanks!

  5. Hi DW,

Good to see your monthly posting again. Likewise, I am interested in getting couple of lots for SATS for long investment.

May i know what price did you enter?

  6. Hi Felix,

Like I mentioned in my post, I believe SATS will benefit from the future new terminals at Changi Airport.

Secondly, SATS has been doing share buybacks aggressively around $3.

    Cheers!

  9. Hi Anonymous,

I got my information just like everyone else.

I read the financial reports from the REITs.

You can find all the information from the websites of the REITs.

I read the newspapers and other financial blogs too.

  12. ST Eng EPS down Q2 year on year. But div up by 1 cts.
Mixed feelings about this counter at the moment but long term should still be good.

  19. Hi DW, I am new to Stock Trading although I have been Forex Trading for a couple of years now.

It seems like your track record looks really good and you know what you're doing. Is there a way for me to email you to ask for advice on how I can get started on this investing route? Thus far I only know of opening accounts through brokers like Philips Security or via OCBC/POSB.

Hope you could help me out on my route to financial freedom.

    Cheers!

  22. Hi Dividend Warrior,

I'm very impressed by your portfolio. It is well-mixed with REITS and some blue chips which gave you some stability in ur investments. I do realise that you do not have many defensive stocks which i feel u should incorporate some like Super (S10.SI) which pay out relatviely okay dividends. Neratel from your portfolio is currently under my watch list as I'm looking for a good entrance price. Any recommendations as to what's a good entrance price for Neratel (N01.SI)?

    Happy Investing!
