All of you must be thinking that Dividend Warrior has lost it. How can someone not love money? o_O
Dun worry. I am still sane. My Dad's recent medical crisis sparked off some thoughts in me. I do not want to work until my 60s when I will be too old to pursue my dreams and interests. At the end of the day, a job is just a job. There is no reason for me to slog and sacrifice my youth over a "job".
Cash is just paper. I do not love it. This paper has value because the government says so. Instead, I crave for the two most valuable things money can provide me. No, not super cars, private jets, condos etc. Money can provide me freedom and time. I am craving to have the freedom and time to do whatever I want, wherever I want, whenever I want.
All the Freedom and Time in the world!
Hopefully, my dividend re-investment plan will help me gain more freedom and time by the time I reach mid-thirties. Feel free to comment below. ^^
Peace Out

Well said Dividend Warrior.
Money is not the end, but the means to an end.
At the end of the day, all material wealth is not real. What's real is the time and freedom we have to do what we want with our limited time on Earth.
When our money works harder for us; it will be time for us to work less and have more time, energy and freedom to do things what we want.
Mid-30s is a great target. I am already approaching 40.
Hi
Money makes the world goes round!
Hi Calvin,
Agreed. Life is short. Our time is limited. Money is just one aspect of life.
Hi Createwealth8888,
Yes, we should make money work harder for us, especially when the present bank interest rates are so low and inflation rising.
I also agree wif the "more energy" point you made. It is true. ^^
Hi AK71,
Yup. Mid-thirties is a good target to set. If I cannot meet that, then at least I will make it by 40 years old.
You are doing fine too! You are my role model and important reference when it comes to REIT investing. ^^
Yo Foodie,
Indeed! Money makes the world goes round. ^^
The idea is to have enough money (and by extension, money generating more money on its own) so as to free up your time. Of course, you need to ensure you still have the energy to do what you want to do. No point being a toothless, emaciated old man with a few million dollars haha!
So money, time and energy - very few people actualy get to have all three at the same time!
Hi DW,
All the best to your financial freedom goal!
Sometimes, the chains holding us back from doing whatver, whenever, and wherever we want has nothing to do with money. Come to think of it, age has nothing to do with it too!
Best regards and well wishes to your Dad.
Hi MW,
Wad u said is true.
When we are young, we have little money. When we are old, we have money but with little energy left.
Hi SMOL,
True. When there is a will, there is a way. Sometimes, we need a mentality/attitude change in order to truly break free from our restrictions.
However, I still believe age is still a factor. Of course, a person can still be full of zest and energy when he is old, but in such a stressful environment in Singapore, most senior citizens usually suffer from some form of chronic illnesses.
I believe good health is wealth too.
Hey there bro,
Do you sell you burberry polo? I'm interested in it.
Best Regards,
