Hi DW,
I am very new in investment and currently looking at reits to begin with.
Could you recommend a trading platform best for reits (I.e poems, bank's)?
Also, how exactly do u get the monthly dividend ?
Appreciate you help on this. Thanks
Regards,

Hi DW
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Your global portfolio sure is impressive considering you have just started it! Great job man.
Know that you are concentrating on dividends on, but I thought the realised/unrealised profits will be a good gauge for one to keep track of the overall bottomline. what do you think?
My dividend thus far is about $80. Starting slow and no money to invest haha =)
Cheers!
Hi Dennis the Menace,
Thanks for visiting my blog. ^^
Yo ahboy82,
Thanks for the compliment! All the best in ur investments too. :)
Hi zonked,
REITs is good for regular income. However, do not put all ur eggs in one basket. U can try other dividend stocks such as Singtel, Starhub, M1 and SPH.
I am currently using DBS Vickers. I only need the basic buy/sell functions. If you need other more complex trading functions, you will need to explore other platforms. I heard POEMS is not bad.
Sorry, I am really not sure which is the best trading platform.
Yo Foodie,
Happy New Year to you too! ^^
Yes, I do keep track of my capital gain/loss in my personal excel file. My rationale is to keep the blog data less cluttered due to feedback from some readers.
All the best in your investments. We shall huat together in 2012! ^^
Hi DW,
Thanks for ur reply..
Jus wondering.. How does the payout for reits work? Is it monthly or?
Hi zonked,
Most REITs distribute payout on a quarterly basis (4 times a year). You can get the dates from SGX.com website.
You just link ur bank account to CDP, then the cash will be deposited to u electronically.
Hi DW
After seeing your reply to Zonked, can I check with you. when ur CDP is linked to your bank acc and dividend is done automatically. will there be any statements sent to you to keep you informed?
Hi Foodie,
For dividends, I received an overall statement sent to me on a yearly basis only.
I usually go to update my bank book after the "payable date". So far, I have been receiving my divy on time, without fail.
Dividend Warrior,
Yes, that's the right approach. Once you stop focusing on unrealized profits/loss, then the ups and downs in the market will affect you less.
Focus on the thing that really matters, Passive Income from Dividends :)

Hi,
Is REITS complicated to buy? I heard there is a rights issue something like that and I'm confused. Can I just buy and hold it? For example, SUNTECREITS, CapitaMall Trust, etc?
u been a great help for those who dunno how to manage their wealth!
tks!
From simple calculation you managed to grow portfolio from 62k to 111k within a year. Thats pretty impressive considering the average income of singaporean. May i know whats the percentage of your salary saved to grow your investment monthly?
Hi thecouch,
I usually save 70% to 80% of my salary. ^^
